Training is one of our key priorities at CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre.
Each lawyer is individually monitored and is offered internal or external adapted training. The annual appraisal with the department head is an excellent opportunity for monitoring and improving knowledge, and reviewing training needs.
Moreover, the Act of 11 February 2004 supplemented by the Decree of 21 December 2004 requires lawyers to undertake 20 hours of continuing professional training during one year or 40 hours during two consecutive years (including ten hours’ ethics training during the first two years of practice as a lawyer).
Technical Training
The Firm invests in the continuing training of its lawyers and organises two-hour internal training sessions for members of the relevant area of expertise, with the assistance of the doctrine teams. These training sessions are approved as continuing training by the Versailles Law School. Moreover, lawyers are able to take external training courses run by an accredited training organisation.
Courses and training provided by lawyers in universities, business schools and training organisations also contribute to their own continuing training. As a result, CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre highly encourages lecturing.
Personal Development
Training seminars on client development and management are also offered during annual appraisals.
Information Technology
New joiners attend several induction training courses including:
- IT training
- training on Elite,
- training on LexisNexis, JurisClasseur and 2LReflex.
Lawyers are subsequently regularly offered IT training on Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Languages
We also offer our lawyers the possibility to take language courses, in particular in English.
