CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre's assertive recruitment strategy and reputation attract young graduates from leading universities and institutes of higher education. One of our major strengths is the training provided to graduate lawyers, equivalent to private tutoring, which perpetuates the rigour, quality and efficiency that are the firm's hallmarks.

Several types of employment are available : 


INTERNSHIPS (average length is 3 months) 

Internship

  • Interns are integrated into a working group of 3 to 12 lawyers
  • Placement is a step towards recruitment

Offered to

  • Postgraduate students
  • Students in their final year at leading institutes of higher education
  • Students attending law school (such as a CRFPA in France).


V.I.E. (International secondment programme) 

Assignment

  • 12 to 18-month secondment to one of our offices outside of France.

Practice areas

  • Business law and taxation

Prerequisites

  • A postgraduate degree in law or a diploma from a leading institute of higher education, supported by law studies (master's degree or doctorate)
  • Successfully-passed law school examination (CRFPA or CAPA), or equivalent

PERMANENT POSITIONS 

Recruitment of students preparing the French CRFPA examination (or equivalent), interns who have passed the French CAPA examination (or equivalent) or experienced lawyers

Recruitment process:

  • Selection based on CV
  • Letter of interest
  • Initial interview with the Human Resources Department
  • Second interview with the partner concerned

Mentoring based on :

  • Involvement in the partner's cases from arrival in the firm
  • Direct personal and telephone contact with clients
  • Participation in internal working meetings

Growing internationalisation:

  • After two years of experience, lawyers can be seconded to one of the offices of the 8 other member firms of the CMS alliance for three months.
  • Long-term secondment to one of CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre's 10 offices outside France for two to five years.
