Emmanuel Meril, Associate, China Manager

Emmanuel Meril joined CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre in 1999 to manage Chinese operations before opening the Firm's representative office in Shanghai in 2002. He currently coordinates our clients' activities in China from the Paris office and is responsible for developing the Chinese client base in France.
Emmanuel Meril has more than twelve years' experience in Asia, including nine years based in Shanghai. He obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Private Law from the University of Paris I (1989), a Post-Graduate Diploma in Industrial Property Law from the University of Paris II (1989) and was admitted to the Hauts-de-Seine Bar in 1999. After having worked as a junior lecturer at the University of Paris XI (1989-1991), he started his legal career as a trainee with the law firm Gide Loyrette Nouel before joining DS in Paris and subsequently DS in Taiwan (1992-1995). He practiced at Concordia Consulting Co. Ltd in Shanghai from 1995 to 1999, where he was a correspondent lawyer, in particular, for Bureau Francis Lefebvre. His working languages are French, English and Mandarin.
